How do Affiliates Promote Affiliate Sites?

       Just because a publisher opts into a particular affiliate program or joins an affiliate network doesn’t automatically mean they will start raking in the commissions.  All that web traffic needs to find the affiliate links, and to know that something is being offered that’s worth investigating, even investing in, or else all those pay per click ads won’t be of any use to anyone, least of all their publisher.

What is a CPA Network?

CPA networks, like affiliate networks, recruit affiliates by offering comprehensive access to merchants and other services.  These affiliates, or publishers, provide lead generation of prospective customers for the online merchants, and in exchange are compensated through a cost per action commission that varies depending on the value of the transaction.  The lines of communication and means of recompense for the publisher’s lead generation are routed through the CPA network, for simplicity and efficiency.  The CPA network may receive a portion of the commission the publisher earns for the lead generation, in which case the CPA network is also compensated on a cost per action basis, or they may collect a fee from the merchant in exchange for access to the CPA network’s large quantity of affiliate partners.

What Is Affiliate Marketing?

At its heart, affiliate marketing, which is an aspect of internet marketing, is an online, commission based referral system.  Affiliate marketing can be boiled down to a few basic points.  A person browsing the internet clicks on a link provided by the affiliate, which takes them to a merchant’s website.  The merchant then compensates the affiliate, either for the referral itself, known as pay-per-click, or as commission based on a sale made to the customer.  Within this simple internet marketing system, however, are a variety of nuances and strategies that make affiliate marketing an intensive and robust system of internet marketing.
